1. Child must attend Parish CCD instructions for the two years prior to receiving the sacrament. This requirement is whether the child is home-schooled or not. For adults, individual instruction will be given to prepare for reception of First Holy Communion.
2. At least one of the parents of a child wishing to make their First Holy Communion must be a practicing Catholic in good standing (or the Godparent(s) of the child) and must be known to the Pastor.
3. Children preparing for the sacrament of First Confession and First Holy Communion must be seven (7) years old by the time the sacrament is administered. Exceptions to this requirement will be handled by the Pastor on an individual basis.
4. The children must memorize the following prayers.
Sign of the Cross, Apostles Creed, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Rosary and Act of Contrition.
5. The child should have a knowledge of the 10 commandments and the 7 sacraments.
